Monday, 28th Rainy in the morning. I called at H. C. Fike's this morning. Took dinner at N. Land's. Stopped all night at H. C. Fike’s.

27 April 1862

Sunday, 27th Pleasant. I walked to A. Fike's then rode to town and attended church. Heard Rev. Ridgly preach. Closed the exercises for him, then took dinner with him. Called on Dr. Ross. Was introduced to Miss Call, then I went to Augs. Fike's. Staid all night, had a pleasant time with the ladies.

26 April 1862

April, Saturday, 26th 1862. Pleasant. Went this morning to G. Rayhill's then to A. Fikes, then to J. Rayhill's. Took supper and then went and stopped all night at G. Rayhill's.

25 April 1862

Friday, 25th Pleasant. Went into the country to day. Called at several of the neighbors. Fed a machine a while then went to the Rayhill's and stopped over night.

24 April 1862

Thursday, 24th Cool and windy. To day I returned from Belleville and staid at night with J. Curtis.

23 April 1862

Wednesday, 23d Pleasant. To day I went to Belleville with W. Slade. Stopped at Rev. W. W. Mitchel's. Was quite a number of wounded soldiers.
