"June, Tuesday, 2nd 1863 Pleasant. E.I.R.B. Ezk. 48th Daniel 1st. All is quiet to day. I have had some bad feelings to day."

"June, Monday, 1st 1863 Pleasant. E.I.R.B. Ezk. 46-47th. The news to day is very meager. I have felt very comfortable spiritually to day. I finished reading Hungary and Kossuth by B. F. Teft. I have been much interested. I admire the Magyar race. I believe Kossuth to be the greatest man of his day. I read Wesley's 63 sermon to night.
