Wednesday, 7th Rains. Started, after bidding farewell to all, for Red Wing. Arrived at 1 P.M. Took passage on the Golden Era at 6 P.M. Got fast on a bar all night till 10 A.M. next day.

Tuesday, 6th Shot some prairie chickens. Saw several of my friends, one sister for the first in 4 years. All well.

Monday, 5th Pleasant. Went to father's. Arrived at 6 P.M. Stopped at father's. Mother was sick, the rest are well. Had a pleasant evening's visit.

Saturday, 3d At 9 A.M. got aboard the Denmark for Red Wing. After a pleasant trip and much beautiful scenery, arrived at Red Wing Sunday eve, the 4th.

Friday, 2nd Pleasant, very warm. At 1 A.M. started for Dunlieth. Arrived at 8 P.M. Stopped at U. S. Hotel. I saw many places very beautiful along the railroad.
