25 September 1861

Wednesday, 25th Pleasant. E.I.R.B. Cron. 22 Corth. 6th. To day the papers confirmed the surrender of Col. Mulligan at Lexington, Mo. on the 20 inst. to a greatly superior force, having been sieged for several days, and surrendered for want of water. We had battalion drill in the afternoon. In the eve the Col. invited us to his quarters to take a glass of beer with him. The Ind. 11th went out to day with 3 days rations. Don't know where they went.
