22 April 1862


Tuesday, 22nd Pleasant. To day is pleasant and I called at Jessie Barnes's, then at Joseph Barnes, then went to G. Rayhill's. Spent the remainder of the day and night. Had a pleasant chat with the old man on the war.

Genl Order No. 21, Head Quarters, 9th Regt Ills Vols.,
Pittsburg Landing, Tenn, April 22, 1862
The Regt will turn out for drill in the following order commencing tomorrow. Co. drill in the morning from 10 to 11 o'clock. The Companies will be Commanded as follows. 1st Co. A, B, C, D under comd of Capt D. T. Tiederman, Lieuts Shevie & Craig with the Ordley Sergt acting as Commanders of Platoons or Sections.
2nd Co. E, F, G under Comd of Capt Hawes, Lieuts Britt & Patterson with orderlys acting as above.
3d Co. H, I, K, under comd of 1st Lieut C. H. Gilmore, Lieut Cowge with the ordly acting as above.
There will be no excuse for not being on drill unless a man is sick.
