Monday, 15th Cloudy with some rain. E.I.R.B. Had B. Drill this morn. Rumor of a battle at Beverly, Va. Pay master arrived at night. Nothing new. Saw S. S. Wilson, had a fine talk with him. Pay master came - 200,000.

Sunday, 14th E.I.R.B. Went to Mound City. Heard Rev. M. Shepherd preach. Returned and heard Rev. Ferree preach at 5 in camp. Some skirmishing at Birds Point.

Tuesday, 9th To day several of the company went home on furlough. I went to Birds Point. Saw W. W. Lemmon and T. D. Seawell. Last night we were alarmed and came out on account of firing at Birds Point.
