25 May 1863

"Monday, 25th Pleasant. E.I.R.B. Ezk. 26-27th. News comes to day that Vicksburg was taken and a great many prisoners taken. I feel comfortably in religion to day. Read Wesley's 60th sermon to night.

"May, Sunday, 24th 1863 Pleasant. I read Ezk. 25th. I attended sabbath school this morning. Talked to them a little. At 11 1 preached from Malachi 3d-8. I felt happy and the Lord gave me liberty. I returned to Lebanon in the eve."
