19 October 1861

Saturday, 19th Pleasant. E.I.R.B. II Cron. 17 Gal. 2d. I attended officers' school this morning. In the afternoon we had battalion drill.

Oct. 19th paid to L. White cash on acct. 1.00

The Provost Marshall will cause a list to be taken of all persons who land from the Steamers plying up & down the River specifying full name, and if not a resident of the city, their business & probable length of stay.  If Officers & Soldiers, the Company & Regt to which they belong will be set forth.  A list of all persons departing will likewise be taken.  These lists will be handed in at these Head Quarters daily with the Guard report.  The Provost Marshall will cause the immediate expulsion of all prostitutes from this city & enforce their absence.
